Kodama Schicen Studio is across from the historic place, "odoi".
This photo shows azalea blossoms on the "odoi" were in full bloom.
The "odoi" is the name of the banks that Hideyoshi Toyotomi built all over Kyoto.
The inside of "odoi" was called "rakutyuu", and the outside of "odoi" was called "rakugai".
Although now we have 11 stone monuments of "odoi ato" in Kyoto city, here is the only place where the shape of the bank remains.
After the war, the bank was simply heap of earth. But this place was administered by Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the bank became a beautiful place like this.
Brackens and Japanese knotweeds are above azalea blossoms on the photo.
You can also view Japanese silver grass and Japanese bush clover, depending on the season.
Take bus No. 205 from Kyoto station, Enmachi station, or Saiin station,
get off at Kinugasakou-mae stop, and walk for 10 minutes.
